_How do you determine the price for each custom made cake?

Just like every wedding and every celebration event, every cake is unique. There are many factors that go into determining the price of a cake, including the category of flavor choice, the icing choice, the size of the cake, the materials used to decorate the cake and the complexity of the design. Our cakes start at $4 a serving for a buttercream cake with minimal decoration and there is a $150 minimum for all orders. Fondant, decorations, flowers, sculptures, etc. are all priced accordingly. Delivery charges typically range from $25 - $75 when delivered within Northern New Jersey or The Lower Hudson Valley. Cake Devils does not charge for set up.  Please contact us for a quote.

When is payment due?

A 50% non refundable retainer is due at the time of ordering. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to delivery. For rush orders placed within 2 weeks of the event, full payment is required at the time of booking.

How far in advance should I place my order?

We are so thankful to all of our customers that trust us to create such an important aspect of their special occasion. Every cake is as important to us as it is to our customer. We work very hard to give our full attention to each order, and for this reason, we will not over book ourselves. It is suggested that you reserve your date as soon as you decide you would like a Cake Devil cake for your affair. All dates are reserved on a first come, first serve basis and your date will be reserved as soon as a deposit is received.  We understand that you have a choice of specialty cake vendors and respect your option to explore other avenues. We, unfortunately, can not  hold a date without a deposit.

Can I come in for a cake consultation and tasting?

Many of our customers come to us based on the reputation of our delicious cakes or after having enjoyed our cake at an affair and do not require a tasting. If you would like a tasting, we are happy to accommodate for orders over $500.
A tasting, for up to 4 people, consists of a 45 minute consultation, up to 4 cake flavors and 3 icing flavors of the Devils' choice. (We will try to accommodate requests for tasting flavors, but can not guarantee all will be fulfilled.) We do require an advance payment of $50 for a tasting. The $50 will be credited toward the price of your cake when you place your order within 2 weeks of the tasting.

The venue where I am getting married requires all outside vendors to be insured. Are you insured?

Yes. Cake Devils is fully insured. We are also a fully licensed operation, with a permit issued by the state of NY, and subject to inspections from the health department. We will always have our license and insurance on hand to provide to your venue.

I have a flavor in mind that I do not see on your website. Are you able to make it for me?

Please contact us and let us know what flavor you would like. We have made many flavors of cake that are not on listed on our site. We most likely will be able to make you a delicious and beautiful creation in the flavor you desire. Our goal is to make you happy.
