Spiced Guinness Cake

St. Patrick's Day was coming and I needed a quick cake for a friend. I thought that a Guinness Cake was quite appropriate given the upcoming holiday. I typically use Guinness to make a Chocolate Stout Cake, but had recently made so much chocolate cake, so I wanted to do something different.
Our new and exciting Spiced Guinness Cake was born! I made it on a whim as an experiment. Wow! Was I pleasantly surprised! It was DELICIOUS! And I don't even like beer. The cake was so moist and fluffy and just plain ol' YUMMY!
We typically pair our Chocolate Guinness cake with a Bailey's Irish Cream buttercream. In an effort to be different, I paired it with a spiced cream cheese buttercream. Such a great combo!!
